Riviera Maya Tulum

Tulum

Located 120km south of Cancun, has become famous for its white powdery sand beaches and blue sky’s that reflect perfectly in its crystal clear waters, creating a perfect picture postcard scene.

One of the region’s most famous archaeological ruins is located here perched high above a cliff face overlooking the cool blue Caribbean waters, a must see if you visit.

Tulum BeachThe town is very different to the high rise development of Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. Many visitors come to enjoy its rustic natural charm. The benefit that it has is its coastal road that allows you to access kilometers of virgin beach.

The coastline has now become dotted with small boutique style hotels and spas that have settled between its palm fringed shores. Hotels offer a varied style of accommodation from a hammock over a sand floor, to a king size bed with a sea view and your personal Jacuzzi on the terrace. Thanks to the fact the beach road has no main line electricity, the development has been slow and to the most part sustainable, with many hotels using green energy sources.

From the beach, the town is located back towards the main highway; it’s grown due to the amount of tourist that visits. Split in two by the main highway, it offers varied shops, cafes, and restaurants. The small town now designated its own municipal, has around 19000 inhabitants many from around the world. Most visitors come to relax on the not crowded beaches and chill in its natural splendor.
